Lilydale’s annual Athletics Carnival is being held on the school oval. Kinder – Year 6 is on Tuesday, 5 March and the Year 7 – Year 10 carnival is on Monday, 4 March. Students are required to attend as per the Department of Education attendance guidelines.

We can have spectators attend this year’s carnivals, which is great. Visitors are required to sign in upon arrival. We heavily encourage spectators to watch each event from the spectator's viewing area.

When students arrive to school, they are required to attend Home Group as normal. Students will have their attendance taken and then will move directly to the school oval in readiness for important announcements for the day’s events.

The format of the carnival is a tabloid. Students will move around events in Year groups e.g. Year 4, Year 8.

Students will be required to bring additional food to maintain their energy levels and lots of water to ensure they remain hydrated for the duration of the day. The school canteen will be in operation from 11.55am to 12.25pm and items will need to be pre purchased through the QKR app. There will also be a barbeque running with sausages for $2.

Students are reminded to dress in their house colours – Red for Maralinga and Blue for Corinna. If students intend to dress up, they must do so in a manner that doesn’t impede their participation.

Students are also encouraged to wear a hat, sunglasses, apply sunscreen regularly and utilise the shade provided. Sunscreen will be readily available from Year supervisors and event staff. Students should also bring warm clothing for changing weather conditions.
