Educational Information for Class Placements
As we begin to consider our 2026 class placements, teachers will be working carefully to ensure balanced classes where every student is given the best chance to succeed. Unfortunately, due to the grade numbers at Lilydale District School we can take all information into account, but it may difficult and act upon it in every circumstance.
If you have any educational information about your child that you feel would be helpful for us to consider which may include specific learning needs, friendships that support learning, or strategies that work well please write them down and mark them attention Karen Hay and pass to the office by 3.00pm on Tuesday, 4 November.
While we are unable to take requests for specific teachers, we always value parent information that helps us understand your child’s learning needs and wellbeing.
Thank you for working with us to ensure class placements for the year ahead are as successful as possible. If you feel you need to make an appointment to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment by contacting the office.
Thank you for your assistance with this.
Swimming Carnival Success
Our annual whole school swimming carnival was held last Friday, 24 October at the Scottsdale Aquatic Centre.
Our Year 3 to 10 students took part in a range of events and supported each other throughout the day. Participation in all year groups was outstanding, and we were so impressed with the commitment and resilience we observed though out the day.
We sincerely thank our parents and the wider community members for supporting students to be the best they can by following all instructions and ensuring that all our young people were safe. We are so appreciative of your support.
A sincere thank you to Mr Taylor, Mr George and Ms Davis for their outstanding work organising such a great event for our students. It’s amazing that our carnival is so inclusive and allows all students to participate in a way that best works for them. Thanks, must also go to all classroom and homegroup teachers for your amazing support throughout the day.
Feel free to leave a comment at the office or make an appointment to chat to me if you have further questions or information you would like to share.
Strike Action Update
The recent strike action on 29 October has passed. I would like to thank families, staff and students for your understanding and support. We are pleased to have everyone back at school today and ready to continue the great learning that is happening.
Warm regards,
Karen Hay
