Ag Studies
Year 7-8 Ag Studies/Animal Studies class spent term 3 learning about Merino Sheep donated to the school through the Tasmanian Merino Challenge. Students taught the sheep to lead, prepared their fleece, and took weekly weights to track how well they were growing. Our theory classes focussed on the wool industry and sheep care and welfare. On Wednesday, 24th September, we took our sheep to the Campbelltown show ground to compare them with the sheep prepared by other schools. Each sheep was muscle and fat scanned, then fibres from the fleece were tested. Our finest fleece measured 16.5 microns.
